Workshop Goals and Objectives
Computer Financial Modeling Workshops offers 1 day workshops during
the fall and spring in various cities across the United States. The
workshops feature the Five Year Budget Model developed exclusively for
nonprofit organizations including higher education, hospitals, nursing
homes, school districts, and governmental agencies. The goal of the
workshops is to teach modeling and forecasting techniques for financial
planning and budgeting. The participants will learn the specific steps
in constructing a model and presenting the results.
The subject matter covered in the workshop will include various Excel
spreadsheet modeling techniques such as: sensitivity, what-if,
goal-seek, trend and regression analysis. Each student will have
available a laptop computer with the Five Year Budget Model.
Participants will learn how to change the model to mirror their
institution's internal budget reports. The model logic macro and new
features of the latest versions of Excel will be studied.
